China King is doing a great job after reopening from COVID-19. Their staff provide exceptional service and their restaurant is very clean. I can appreciate this local staple for reasonable prices and quality food. Can't wait to visit again.

Surprisingly poor quality food given past experiences

We visited this restaurant on July 8 2018. When you enter the restaurant you see at once that it is dark and old, not inviting at all. We went for the buffet , recommended by friends. We started with the only soup they had to offer, Won Ton soup, the taste was fine, but just warm. We tried the rice, noodles, steamed vegetables with meat, BBQ ribs, chicken wings, every thing was warm, not hot. The taste of all the dishes were blend, and tasted the same. The BBQ ribs were OK. The choice for dessert was limited, and not home made except the jello. There were cup cakes, slices of cake, jello, apple pie, and lemon pie. I didn't take any dessert, took instead some fried pastry with honey from the main food, and my husband took some jello. The owners were friendly! The bill for the two of us was $ 30.- not expensive, but we are not returning to this restaurant. again.

I was there at least five minutes before I was offered a drink. The chicken fried rice and spring rolls had definitely gone bad. I had to go and find someone when I wanted to pay. And it wasn't even busy.

Food is always tasty and the staff are very nice and friendly.

What you see is what you get. It can be 1/5 but it's 5/5 for the area. Not comparing it with the best of new york here. Comparing what is available in NS.

This is the best restaurant in town don’t let people tell you otherwise.The staff are very friendly and welcoming the new look is beautiful.Everyone that is leaving a nasty comment are just jealous that they can’t cook!

Very pleasant service good food good price

It's fairly standard american chinese. It's not the best but it caters to the small town clientele, so go in with that in mind. For vegetable dishes , you're better off to go to the buffet. The takeout vegetable dishes are often overcooked. If you order takeout, just do yourself a favor and skip the vegetable dishes.

Overall recommend. Parking is good for the area. The interior is well kept and as of the pandemic it is laid out with social distancing spacing in mind while the buffet line has been streamlined as well.The options for the buffet are the way to go at $12.99 unless you are a senior citizen and can get the senior meal deal. Overall our favorite thing was the soup dumplings. They dumplings were stuffed and the soup was delicious. It was light cabbage based soup. Check it out if you want tasty, quick, and lots to eat.

Great food, friendly staff and all you can eat buffet

The Buffett is amazing with a wide variety of choices all you can eat . You definitely leave with satisfaction.

Overall the service was decent and the food was as expected. To be fair, my visit occurred during “rush hour” so it was very busy. This isn’t a great spot to dine in during covid times as there isn’t a lot of room for proper physical distancing but overall I was very satisfied with the buffet. It was thoroughly and frequently re-stocked with lots of fresh dishes including dessert. I will return next time in Port Hawkesbury.

In all my traveling I have never ate in a place as dirty as this place.. I should have walked out but I didnt want to be rude.. from the dirty ceiling fans to the old food laying on tables and floors.. this was right out of the Texas chainsaw massacre.. I'm surprised this place is open cuz ain't nooooo way this place is passing inspection

Avoid this place. Shabby exterior should have warned us. Nice hardworking Chinese couple crank out sweet gooy food or greasy deepfried whatever. Priced too high for the low quality. 2 stars because I did like the honey garlic ribs.

As they have all day buffet, the service is very quick, as you can start there immediately. There are over 16 authentic Chinese dishes to select from and if you prefer a la cart they have plenty to choose from. Maggie ( the owner) is very personable and friendly.

China King Buffet offers a great selection of Canadian-Chinese foods for reasonable prices. Staff is organized and helpful and serves customers with a smile upon the face.

Authentic Chinese food is available. The staff speak Mandarin and English - a wonderful treat for anyone feeling nostalgic about life in China.

Food was not the greatest. Chicken balls had more dough than chicken..rice was flavorless..egg rolls weren't bad but greasy..did not enjoy at all! None of it

Buffet was great value, food was fresh and tasty. Some Chinese restaurants use too much oil or msg. This place doesn't overdo either. I really enjoyed their food and friendly service. Thumbs up.

The fact that you can get the all you can eat buffet anyday of the week is my absolute favourite thing about this restaurant and it's always so delicious.

Went to go in location and the walls and entrance were DIRTY ,when we went in we passed the buffet and the food looked great, when we went to sit down the table was dirty and the wall and heater next to it was dirty. We decided to leave as if it was dirty in the sitting area what was the kitchen like.

I find it very hard to even give this restaurant 1 star. This was my first time eating here since the new owners took over. We ordered takeout. Got it home. Beef and broccoli had water sugar and garlic as a sauce ( or at least that’s what I was told Beef and broccoli was made off ). Well so was the the chicken chow menu and the stir fried veggies. Had to be the worst Chinese food I have eaten in all my life.

Always enjoy stopping in for the lunch buffet. The food is consistently prepared and varied.

The food was not according to my taste I understand but the staff was great ! It's a bit pricey because water and even fountain pop was not included in the buffet! Do I reccomend ? Uh I don't know ! It's just a bit tasteless for me !
